What the result means

The reorder point is the inventory position at which replenishment review should begin. This calculator adds estimated demand during lead time to the safety stock you selected, then rounds the result up to a whole unit.

The status compares the reorder point with net available inventory, defined here as on-hand units plus confirmed units on open purchase orders. A result of “review reorder now” does not decide the order quantity or supplier.

Keep the assumptions with the answer

Save the demand window, lead-time source, and safety-stock reason with any decision. Without those notes, the same result can mean different things to different people during the next inventory review.
